We've grown by two feet!

I think they are the cutest little feet ever! We have been abundantly blessed by a domestic adoption of a little girl! Little Lady is bright, happy, and adorable!! I would love to share pictures but domestic adoption works much differently than an international, and DH and I have decided not to publicly post pictures of her for now... well, except for her feet!

I guess that explains why I haven't been a faithful blogger! Not only is there a lack of quilting going on around here, my hands have been pretty full and I am still adjusting to getting less sleep! All in all it has been a very smooth transition. Little Man adores his baby sister and is an incredible big brother.

I do have a little quilt to post that my Mom made for Little Lady. Her room, which was the sewing room, has a vintage or 30's reproduction theme. My Mom whipped this amazing quilt up for her. I adore the fabrics. We hung it above her crib.

I am trying to work on quilts for this year's Love Without Boundaries auction. I have one in progress. I think I have 6 out of 35 blocks done. I may only get that one done in time. My sewing area is now a corner of our dining room, which makes it a bit more trouble to get everything out. I have had a little sewing time since Little Lady came home at the beginning of January, but not too much. I am having so much fun with my Little Princess I mind much less than I would have imagined! I do hope to post more often. We are beginning to get more into a routine which makes life a little more predictable!

I can't resist adding this shot of her feet...

A Finish for a Special Aunt & Uncle

This was finished in time to be sent to my dear Uncle and Aunt in time for Christmas. I made it with Maidera and Mother Goose charm squares. They opened it on Christmas and were surprised and delighted. My family began drawing names for Christmas this year and I am thrilled. It is fun to focus on one big special gift. Leslie did the quilting and she did an amazing job, as she always does! She also finished my Carolina Crossroads too:) I need to bind it then I will post a pic.

I haven't posted because things have been very busy here. (Besides normal Christmas busy) I will post more details in a week or so...

Scrappy Ornaments

Little Man and I made these. I made the red one and he used red and green scraps. We decoupaged the little scraps on Styrofoam balls with Modge Podge. I found the idea on a blog, and can't remember which one right now. I will keep looking and post a link. It is a great way to use the scraps smaller than a cat's ear!

House of Joy

Making a gingerbread house is one of my favorite traditions. We normally use on of the kits you can buy. This year we made a smaller one with a milk carton and graham crackers. I like both ways, but may go back to the kit. If you buy it on sale it costs less than buying the candy. We don't keep much candy around the house so it is easier to have the kit. We do keep a bag of alphabet pretzels around, and I love how they look on the house. The snow, or large pieces of hail, around the house are some dried marshmallows I bought to add to hot cocoa mix. I didn't have coconut which has more of a snowy look. Each year we build our house on a cake plate with a lid and use it as a centerpiece.

On another note this is my 100th post! I have something I have been working on to give away, but it is not ready yet. So I am going to have my giveaway in January. If you would like to enter a give away right now.... head over to Bagladee's blog for a great one.

Jesus is Amazing!!

Santa lives at the North Pole.

JESUS is everywhere.

Santa rides in a sleigh

JESUS rides on the wind and walks on the water.

Santa comes but once a year

JESUS is an ever present help.

Santa fills your stockings with goodies

JESUS supplies all your needs.

Santa comes down your chimney uninvited

JESUS stands at your door and knocks.. and then enters your heart.

You have to stand in line to see Santa

JESUS is as close as the mention of His name.

Santa lets you sit on his lap

JESUS lets you rest in His arms.

Santa doesn't know your name, all he can say is "Hi little boy or girl, What's your name?"

JESUS knew our name before we did. Not only does He know our name, He knows our address too. He knows our history and future and He even knows how many hairs are on our heads.

Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly

JESUS has a heart full of love.

Santa says "You better not cry"

JESUS says "Cast all your cares on me for I care for you.

Santa's little helpers make toys

JESUS makes new life, mends wounded hearts, repairs broken homes and builds mansions. Santa may make you chuckle but JESUS gives you joy that is your strength.

While Santa puts gifts under your tree JESUS became our gift and died on the tree.

It's obvious there is really no comparison.

We need to remember who Christmas is all about. We need to put Christ back in Christmas. Jesus is still the reason for the season.

My Mom sent this to me in an e-mail and I couldn't help but share it with you. I pray you are having a blessed day during this wonderful time of celebrating the birth of Jesus.
